Hong Kong Economic and Trade Delegation Visits BCCI



BCCI President Tsvetan Simeonov met with a delegation from the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

The guests were informed about the current economic situation in the country, the tax system, the main macroeconomic indicators, Bulgaria's place in international rankings, etc. The activities of the BCCI and the services that the Chamber provides for the benefit of business were presented.

Simeonov shared that internationally, the BCCI does not support the protectionist measures taken by some countries. He stated that the Chamber of Commerce is for free trade, expanding trade opportunities and finding new trade partners. He stated the readiness of the BCCI to assist companies from Hong Kong, as well as to inform the business community in Bulgaria about the opportunities for entering the Asian market, the main exhibitions and incentives for foreign investors.

Shirley Yung, Special Representative for Hong Kong Economic and Trade Affairs to the European Union, said that the visit to Sofia is aimed at showcasing business and investment opportunities in Hong Kong, as well as some of the larger exhibitions organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. She emphasized Hong Kong's leading position in the field of finance and services and shared that more and more international companies are entering the Asian market through Hong Kong. 

Ken Chung, Regional Manager, Business Development Europe, Central Asia & Israel at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, presented the list of upcoming events and invited Bulgarian companies to participate in fairs and exhibitions in the wine, food and beverage industry, etc.

It was agreed that during the next visit to Sofia, a joint event with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be organized to present the opportunities for cooperation with Hong Kong.
