Discussion on the opportunities for development of the trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and Iraq

Mr. Jassam Hubeter, Chairman of the Bulgarian-Iraqi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, held a meeting with Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), during which the current state and the development outlook of the trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and Iraq were discussed.

During the meeting, Mr. Hubeter delivered a comprehensive overview of the current economic and business climate in Iraq, along with the outcomes of his recent engagements with local institutions and partners during his visit. Both parties also explored opportunities for enhancing the bilateral cooperation in alignment with the prevailing conditions.

The discussions also included a telephone conversation with the newly elected President of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce, Mr. Amer Halaf Al-Fahdawi. Mr. Simeonov congratulated his counterpart on his new appointment and emphasized the traditionally strong cooperation between BCCI and its partners in Iraq.

In light of the current circumstances, the parties agreed on the need to strengthen online cooperation through virtual meetings and the exchange of information regarding legislative changes and business opportunities. It was agreed an online meeting to be organized in the second half of the year, as well as a regular exchange of information to be established on projects and public tenders in which Bulgarian companies could participate.
