The "FUMI in Bulgaria" Project Was Presented at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia
Within the framework of the project "Functionally Sustainable Migration and Integration in Bulgaria" (FUMI), implemented by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Executive Development – Bulgaria (CEED Bulgaria), a meeting was held with the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Lusine Kocharyan. The meeting was also attended by H.E. Nikola Nikolov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Armenia, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, BCCI, and CEED Bulgaria.
During the meeting, discussions focused on labor market trends, opportunities for developing bilateral cooperation, and the prospects for labor migration. The objectives of the FUMI project were presented alongside the online platform www.bgjobsportal.com, which aims to connect Bulgarian employers with job seekers from non-EU countries, providing reliable information on working conditions and integration in Bulgaria.
Deputy Minister Lusine Kocharyan emphasized that in recent years, Armenia has gradually shifted from being an exporter to an importer of labor force, and she expressed readiness for further cooperation and support in promoting the initiative. The participants noted the necessity of a broader information campaign and the involvement of licensed recruitment agencies and competent institutions.
The attendees highlighted the traditionally strong relations between Bulgaria and Armenia, as well as the significant role of the Armenian community in Bulgaria in fostering bilateral ties. At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing cooperation in the field of economic and labor relations, as well as to joint efforts in promoting upcoming promotional and informational initiatives under the project.
