The President of the BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov presented the activities of the Chamber of Vasko Stoilkov - Mayor of Slivnitsa Municipality
Stoilkov informed that the industrial zone of the city is currently working at full capacity, and its expansion is planned in the future. He added that his administration is working towards attracting new companies to work on the territory of the municipality.
The two also discussed the need for the application of the "polluter pays" principle in garbage collection in localities in connection with the latest amendments to the legislation and the requirements of the European Union. This means that a "garbage" fee will be charged based on the amount of waste disposed of, rather than as a percentage of the property's tax assessment, as it currently is.
The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry introduced Stoilkov to the activities of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the advantages of its membership, the opportunities for attracting foreign investors, organizing the participation of Bulgarian companies in trade delegations abroad and other administrative services to help businesses.
Stoilkov was also familiar with the activities of the Court of Arbitration at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry established in 1897, enabling companies to resolve legal disputes many times faster, more professionally and cheaper than the state justice system.
The CofA at the BCCI also offers a number of other options for alternative dispute resolution under the Conciliation Rules, expedited proceedings, "Ad hoc" (special disputes), as well as mediation, which is characterized by a wider competence.
Simeonov paid special attention to the Unified Voluntary Trade Register of the Chamber, in which Bulgarian merchants, associations, commercial representations of foreign persons are registered. Its purpose and functions are aimed at serving society and business by providing reliable information on the current status of registered legal entities. The trade register of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry provides a guarantee of security in the implementation of their commercial relationships and provision of issuing services, and certification of subsequent documents necessary for their foreign trade activities.
