Work meeting with the new ambassador of the Kingdom of Jordan for Eastern Europe



The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsvetan Simeonov held a working meet with Mutaz Abdul Rahman Hasaune, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan based in Bucharest. The conversation took place a few days after the presentation of his credentials. The interlocutors discussed the possibilities for deepening the bilateral cooperation and increasing the trade and economic exchange between the two countries.

Clear steps were identified to widely inform the business circles from Bulgaria and Jordan about the available and future opportunities for expanding trade and investments in both directions. Simeonov shared with the ambassador the experience of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in organizing business events of an informative nature /present and hybrid/, thematic exhibitions and forums with bilateral meetings.

Ambassador Hassaune presented his country as the center of stability in the region. He also pointed to economic sectors that are developing more actively, saying that the country currently needs fertilizers and chemical raw materials.

According to information from the Ministry of Economy and Industry, trade between Bulgaria and Jordan will reach its maximum volume for the last 5 years in 2021 /46.3 million USD/. Last year it amounted to 43.7 million USD. The trade balance is positive for our country.

The leading goods in Bulgaria's exports to Jordan in 2023 are: wheat, rye, tractors, bakery and confectionery products, vegetable oils, rice, sowing seeds, medicines, electric batteries, particleboard, kraft paper and cardboard, etc.

The leading goods in Bulgaria's imports from Jordan in 2023 are: copper waste and debris, clothing, nitrites and nitrates, machinery and equipment, grain food products, resins and paints, machinery and equipment, polyacetals, fruits, vegetables, canned goods and etc.
