BCCI took part in the 119th Assembly of EUROCHAMBRES and in the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Association

The 119th Plenary Assembly of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (EUROCHAMBRES) and the regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Association were held in Zagreb, Croatia. BCCI was represented by the President of the Chamber, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov.

Participants were welcomed by the President of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce Luka Burilović, who said that the only way to achieve competitiveness of the economy is the creation of appropriate policies and modernization of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in order to meet the demands of its members. "Without business digitization there cannot be  economic growth," emphasized Mr. Burilović.

In his address to the participants in the Assembly, Mr. Richard Weber, President of EUROCHAMBRES focused on the issues of refugees and the need to strengthen the quality of European education and raise the level of competence in accordance with the requirements of labor market.

After the official opening, discussions focused on the achievements and developments of the activities of EUROCHAMBRES for the period 2015-2016. Summary report on the matter was delivered by the President of EUROCHAMBRES Mr. Richard Weber.

The Vice President of the Croatian Chamber, Mr. Želimir Kramarić
presented the topic "Digital economy - the role of the Chambers." Representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry from Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Malta and Ukraine presented their experience in digital platforms.

Conducting the traditional European Parliament of Enterprises (October 13 2016, Brussels) was confirmed. BCCI will further inform on the conditions for participation. As it is known, each member state may participate with as many delegates as MPs it has in the Parliament – Bulgaria has 17 seats. Also the project proposal of EUROCHAMBRES regarding the assistance for socialization of immigrants was discussed. BCCI confirmed its interest for participation in the project.
