At a business seminar in Taipei, Taiwan, the President of BCCI Mr.Tsvetan Simeonov presented the opportunities for business cooperation with Bulgaria, the macroeconomic indicators of the country, the advantages of Bulgaria and the government initiatives to attract foreign investment. Special attention was paid to the role of BCCI in supporting the business, the diversity of services that the Chamber offers, whatever the nationality of the investor (Presentation here).
Representatives from Bulgaria and Greece, as well as Taiwanese institutions and companies with experience in the Balkans took part in the event, organized by the Chinese Association for International Economic Cooperation (CIECA).
At the opening of the seminar Fred Huang, Deputy Chairman of CIECA, and Ms. Shu-Mei Yang, Deputy Chief of the Taiwan Bureau of Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Economy, noted the interest of the Taiwanese companies to the Balkan region to establish strategic partnerships, technology transfer and investment.
From the Bulgarian side in the seminar, Mr. Ivan Kashukeev, representative of BCCI in Vietnam and Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Central and Eastern Europe in Vietnam participated in the seminar.
Mr. Eleftherios Ioannidis, Mayor of Kozani, made a presentation of the investment opportunities of the region of Western Macedonia, Greece. Presented were more opportunities for cooperation by Taiwanese companies in the Balkans in the field of information technology and LED-lighting.
More than 80 companies and organizations present at the event expressed their interest in cooperation with Bulgarian partners.
BCCI President spoke with Ms. Shu-Mei Yang. They discussed potential areas of cooperation between the Chamber and the Taiwanese Bureau of Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Economy.
At a meeting of the Association of SMEs in Taiwan (NGO to assist entrepreneurs) it was agreed that a Taiwanese delegation with representatives of SMEs would visit Bulgaria by the end of the year.
The program of the visit, which lasts until June 25, includes meetings and a visit to an international exhibition in the field of food industry Food Taipei 2016, an Institute of Technology, a Science Park and Observatory.
Upon completion of the business mission in Taipei, BCCI will inform on the specific interests and the agreements reached.
