American companies had meetings with Bulgarian businesses and sectorial organizations on 16 and 17 October in Sofia. The U.S. trade mission “Trade Winds” covers several South Eastern European countries – Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Serbia. More than 130 meetings organized by the Commercial Section of the U.S. Embassy, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Enterprise Europe Network were held within the U.S. trade mission in Bulgaria.

The business talks covered the following areas: defence industry, construction, transport, industrial equipment, energy, environmental technologies, water sector, textile industry, workwear and protective equipment, sports goods, water supply, healthcare, automotive industry, radio communications, cosmetics, food supplements, food industry, consultations and financing, etc.

The American business representatives also visited several Bulgarian companies.

In a discussion with the U.S. businessmen, the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov presented the economic situation in the country. He highlighted the extremely favourable conditions for doing business – the lowest taxes in Europe, financial stability, the lack of currency risk for those working in Euro, low budget deficit, etc.

Simeonov expressed readiness on behalf of BCCI to continue to assist American companies with business and investment interests in South Eastern Europe, in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy and the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria, EEN and the expanded structure of the unified system of BCCI and the regional chambers.
