The President of BCCI visited the Embassy of Japan in Sofia and met with H.E. Hiroshi Narahira

The President of BCCI visited the Embassy of Japan in Sofia and met with H.E. Hiroshi Narahira, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Bulgaria.

During the meeting, the economic situation in Japan, which is severely affected by the current crisis, was discussed. In some of the sectors the decline in activity is up to 90% (transport, tourism), while in others there is a sharp growth (IT, e-commerce, etc.).

Tsvetan Simeonov said that the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic are very serious for Bulgarian companies. BCCI continues to propose and discuss adequate and up-to-date measures within the tripartite dialogue, as well as against the background of the upcoming elections with representatives of various government structures and political parties.

Other possibilities and niches for realization of Bulgarian products in Japan and Japanese goods in Bulgaria were also discussed, mainly in the sector of food industry, wine production, high-tech products, etc.

Ambassador Narahira expressed readiness of Japanese organizations and companies to share experience in areas such as environmental protection, air and water, wastewater management and others.

The meeting was also attended by Michiyo Miyamoto, Second Secretary and Head of the Economic Department at the Embassy of Japan in Bulgaria and Gabriela Dimitrova, Director “International Cooperation and International Organizations” at BCCI.
