The President of the National Assembly Mihail Mikov met with nationally representative employers' organizations. The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was represented by its Secretary-General Vassil Todorov. The talks, which involved the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Hasan Ademov, were focused on the need for amendments to the Law on Public Disclosure of Senior Government Officials.
The employers’ organizations stated their opinions regarding the breached procedure with the latest amendments to the law, their anti-constitutional character, the non-conformity and the violation of the regulations of the International Law, Convention 87 in particular that guarantees the independence of the trade unions and the employers’ organizations in our country.
In a statement given after the meeting, the National Assembly President noted that changes are needed to the law not only in terms of employers' organizations, but for other categories as well.
The Speaker of Parliament announced that as early as next week there will be consultations with the parliamentary groups in order to bring the law within reason.
The National Assembly President expressed hope that the changes would be quickly prepared and approved by parliament.
