Discussion of the possibilities for industrial, trade and cultural cooperation between Sofia and Taipei

A working meeting was held at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry between the President Tsvetan Simeonov and Calvin Ho, Representative at the Taipei Representative Office in Greece. The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Taiwan Trade Center in Sofia, Shane Tsai. 

The topics of the conversation covered the possibilities for strengthening the trade and cultural exchange between Sofia and Taipei.

The President of the BCCI presented the activities of the chamber, which this year celebrates 130 years since its establishment. He shared information about the successful partnership that the BCCI maintains with related organizations in Taiwan, as well as personal impressions from his last visit to Taipei, related to a visit to industrial parks and a trade exhibition.

Simeonov explained the positive changes taking place in Bulgaria in connection with the country's full accession to the Schengen area, the upcoming introduction of the common European currency, the prepared association with the OECD and the maintenance of the principles of free trade.

The possibilities for exchange of visits of business representatives for the purpose of participation in various international exhibitions and fairs were discussed.
