Eurostat: Bulgarians use the cheapest electricity in the EU

Electricity prices in the first half of 2017 were the lowest in Bulgaria across the European Union, according to a Eurostat analysis quoted by BBC.

We paid less than EUR 10 per 100 kilowatt-hours in Bulgaria, while in Denmark and Germany - over EUR 30 per 100 kilowatt-hours, where is the most expensive electricity. The analysis compares prices for the first six months of 2016 and the same period this year, with a slight decrease of 0.5 per cent for the first half of the year. The average cost of electrical energy in the EU is EUR 20 per 100 kilowatt-hours. Our country maintains the lowest prices for natural gas - about EUR 3.3 , with this indicator being just behind Romania.
