Industrial Producer Price Growth in Bulgaria Slows to 8.1% Year-on-Year in March


The growth of industrial producer prices in Bulgaria slowed to 8.1% year-on-year in March, according to data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI) released here on April 30. 

The overall Producer Price Index in industry decreased by 0.8% in March 2026 compared to the previous month, but remained 8.1% above its level in March 2025. Compared to February, lower prices were observed in the production and distribution of electricity, heat, and gas  down by 7.7%, while increases were recorded in the mining industry (up 3.3%) and in manufacturing (up 2.2%), the NSI reported. 

On an annual basis, price growth in March was registered in the mining industry (up 40.4%), in manufacturing (up 4.9%), and in the production and distribution of electricity, heat, and gas (up 0.8%). 

The year began with an increase in industrial producer prices of 5.9% month-on-month and 11.3% year-on-year, NSI data show. In February, the upward trend in prices slowed to 0.1% on a monthly basis and 8.4% year-on-year.
