Industrial zones and industrial parks are a key element of the government's strategy for accelerating economic development and attracting domestic and foreign investment, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investments and Industry Alexander Poulev said during a meeting with operators of industrial zones and industrial parks from across the country, the Economy Ministry said on 22 July.

Participants discussed legislative and infrastructure challenges, as well as measures to strengthen the role of industrial zones in attracting investment.

Poulev said the government will continue supporting industrial zones through infrastructure investment, streamlined administrative procedures and dialogue with operators, adding that business feedback was essential for improving the regulatory framework.

He also said the government would prepare a growth-oriented 2027 budget while maintaining support for Bulgarian industry in 2026, including energy-intensive companies. He noted that EUR 60 million had been allocated to fulfil commitments to major investors that have expanded production, introduced new technologies and created more than 2,000 jobs.

Poulev said planned reforms to improve the investment climate include establishing an Investment Promotion Coordination Council under the Council of Ministers, reducing administrative burdens on businesses and improving the efficiency of the public administration.
