A Chinese delegation from Jinshan District visited BCCI to explore potential areas of cooperation with Bulgaria
A delegation from Jinshan District, located in the southwestern part of Shanghai, China, visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and held a meeting with its President, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov. During the talks, opportunities for expanding trade and economic cooperation between Bulgaria and China were discussed.
Tsvetan Simeonov presented to the guests the main macroeconomic indicators of Bulgaria, highlighting the country’s stable economic environment, low tax rates, and modest public debt. He acquainted the delegation with the activities and structure of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasizing its excellent partnership with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). In this context, he also noted last year’s signed cooperation agreement in the field of arbitration with the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), which provides additional foundations for the development of the bilateral business relations.
The head of the delegation, Liu Jian, thanked the hosts for the well-organized meeting and introduced Jinshan District, the name of which translates as “Golden Mountain.” He highlighted that the district’s key strength today lies in the companies driving its economic growth. The area includes nine towns, one subdistrict, and two industrial parks, with a population of around 820,000
Liu Jian highlighted agriculture as a leading sector, covering grain and feed production, the development of high-tech irrigation systems, soil cultivation, and the manufacturing of biofertilizers and agricultural inputs. In addition, the district has a strong presence in the chemical industry, drone and electric vehicle manufacturing, information and communication technologies, as well as display and LED screen production.
During the meeting, opportunities for cooperation with Bulgarian companies were outlined in sectors such as automotive manufacturing, ICT, and tourism. The Chinese delegation extended an invitation to Bulgarian businesses to visit Jinshan District and explore its investment opportunities.
The two parties agreed to continue regular information exchanges and to support the promotion of investment projects and business opportunities in Bulgaria and China.
