A meeting was held at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with representatives of European Energy, a Danish company specializing in the development, construction, and management of renewable energy solutions, including solar and wind projects, battery systems, and Power-to-X technologies (hydrogen and e-methanol). The meeting was organized at the initiative of the Embassy of Denmark in Sofia and the BCCI Investment Council.
The discussions featured Hans Brask, Senior Vice President for Government Relations; Johannes Thon, Vice President for Project Development for Germany, Greece, and Bulgaria; Veselin Georgiev, Senior Manager for Bulgaria; Vladimir Tomov, Member of the BCCI Board of Directors and Chairman of the Investment Council; H.E. Fleming Stender, Ambassador of Denmark to Bulgaria; and Tsvetan Simeonov, President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
During the meeting, the guests were briefed on the activities and structure of the BCCI Investment Council, which brings together private investors, investment funds, banks, financial institutions, as well as state and municipal bodies and organizations involved in the investment process. Opportunities for collaboration in the energy sector were also presented.
European Energy emphasized the company’s strategic focus on integrating various renewable energy technologies into efficient hybrid solutions. The company operates in 24 countries across four continents and manages a project portfolio with a total capacity of 63 GW.
In Bulgaria, the company’s portfolio amounts to approximately 1.2 GW, with over 500 MW—primarily onshore wind farms—at an advanced stage of development. European Energy’s investment plans are focused on strengthening its presence in the Bulgarian market and contributing to the country’s energy independence, sustainable development, and green transition.
During the meeting, the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry underscored the Chamber’s commitment to creating and maintaining a favorable environment for foreign investors in Bulgaria, in line with the organization’s development priorities.
