Significant Events are Forthcoming in Support of the Trade and Economic Relations between Bulgaria and Argentina
Mr Vasil Todorov, Vice President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, held a working meeting with Juan Ignacio Camio Bavasso, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Argentina in Sofia.
The meeting discussed opportunities for encouraging the bilateral economic relations. Mr Bavasso informed that there will be a visit of representatives of the National Business Association of Metallurgical Industries of the Republic of Argentina (ADIMRAB) in Bulgaria. During the visit, numerous meetings with interested partners will be held. He also emphasised the significance of the forthcoming EU-Argentina Investment and Business Forum on 1–2 June 2026 in Buenos Aires.
Information was shared regarding the preparation of the traditional participation of Argentinian companies in the international BATA AGRO Exhibition in the period 1–5 June 2026 in Stara Zagora. This year, Argentina is participating with a large booth and strong business presence.
The interlocutors expressed the shared view that there is great potential for more intensive trade and investment ties between Bulgaria and Argentina. Mr Bavasso informed that, according to data of the Argentinian statistics, the foreign trade exchange between the two countries increased nearly six times in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period in the last year. According to him, the economies of both countries rather complement each other and this fact presumes many opportunities for cooperation.
The sectors of mutual interest were discussed, including energy, extractive industries, agriculture, cranes and other lifting equipment, as well as information technologies.
It was agreed that BCCI and the Argentinian Embassy in Sofia would continue their joint efforts to encourage the bilateral economic relations, especially against the background of the effective EU-Mercosur Trade Agreement.
