The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco visited the BCCI and discussed the expansion of economic cooperation with Bulgaria

H.E. Mrs. Zakia El Midaoui, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Morocco to Sofia, visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), where she held a meeting with the President of the Chamber, Mr.Tsvetan Simeonov. During the conversation, opportunities for the development and deepening of trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and Morocco were discussed.

Ambassador El Midaoui presented the current economic situation in Morocco, highlighting the surge in tourist flow to the country throughout 2025. She drew attention to the well-developed infrastructure — both road and rail — as well as the strategic importance of air transport. In this regard, it was noted that Morocco operates 15 international airports, which serve as primary gateways to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and other regions.

During the meeting, the participants discussed cooperation opportunities and plans for 2026, including an upcoming visit in May of this year by representatives of the Moroccan Investment Agency and the organization of a joint event with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). The Agency is responsible for promoting national and international investment, as well as the export of Moroccan goods and services.
