Leading Companies from China and Malaysia Explore the Options for Investments and Development of Business in Bulgaria



The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a meeting with representatives of leading companies from China and Malaysia who are exploring the opportunities for investments and development of business in Bulgaria.

Gabriela Dimitrova, Director of ‘International Cooperation and International Organisations’ Dept. at BCCI, presented the Chamber’s activity and its role in creating a favourable business environment and in supporting investors. She highlighted BCCI’s extensive international partnership network and the active cooperation with related organisations in China and Malaysia which facilitate the establishment of business contacts and the development of the bilateral economic cooperation.

The meeting discussed the opportunities for partnership between foreign and Bulgarian companies in areas such as infrastructure, construction, the energy industry, green technologies and sustainable development.

Special attention was also given to the interaction between science and business in connection with the partnerships of the Chinese companies with the World Association of Nobel Laureates. The organisation brings together over 200 scientists from 25 countries and its goal is to encourage the development of science, the international cooperation between researchers and experts, as well as the support for young scientists.

The topics of the talks included also the opportunities for cooperation in the development of smart cities through the integration of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, big data analytics and green technologies. Emphasis was put on the intelligent transport systems, energy efficiency, modern public services and the solutions for environmental protection.
