Meeting of the President of the BCCI with the Ambassador of Ukraine

The new Ambassador of Ukraine in Sofia, appointed only recently, H.E. Olesya Ilashchuk, visited the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and discussed with the President of the Chamber Tsvetan Simeonov the possibilities for expanding bilateral cooperation. Lilia Ivanova, chairperson of the Bulgarian-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also took part in the meeting.

Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov introduced Ambassador Ilashchuk to the activity and structure of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, focusing on the regional structure of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Council of Branch Organizations at the Chamber. The Chairman of the BCCI presented also the work of the Arbitration Court and its advantages - digitization, speed and economy.

Mr Simeonov said that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry maintains traditionally good relations with the Embassy of Ukraine in Sofia, as well as with partners from the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He presented also the activities of Bulgarian-Ukrainian Industrial Chamber at the BCCI, established in 2012 with the active participation of the Embassy of Ukraine in Sofia.

Lilia Ivanova, chairperson of the BUIC, presented some of the more important events, organized by the Chamber in the last year, including the Regional Business Forum in Ruse, organized in favor of the opportunities for recovery of Ukraine and the participation of businesses. She pointed out that important part of BUIC's activity is the activation of relations with partners from Ukraine and the enticement of new members.

The participants discussed the idea of organizing a Bulgarian - Ukrainian business forum, targeting the sectors of information technology, fintech, agro-technology, machinery, food and furniture industry.

Ambassador Ilashchuk reaffirmed the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Sofia for the enhancement of the bilateral commercial and economic relations, pointing out this is the right time to start the recovery of Ukraine.

The BCCI will provide further information about upcoming initiatives with partners from Ukraine.
