Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Co-Organize EU-Australia Business Forum in October

The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) will be a co-organizer of an EU-Australia business forum dedicated to new opportunities for trade and investment cooperation that will be created by the EU-Australia Free Trade Agreement. The event will take place on October 7 at Aula Magna of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski in a hybrid format.

The forum will be organized by the Bulgarian-Australian Business Council, the Australian Embassy, Sofia University and the BCCI.

The forum will aim to provide Bulgarian businesses with up-to-date and practical information on the development of EU-Australia relations, the outcome of the concluded negotiations on the agreement and the steps ahead until its entry into force. Participants will receive information on how companies can prepare to expand their access to the Australian market, as well as on opportunities to develop trade, investment and technology partnerships. The forum will present specific opportunities for exports, investment and business cooperation, as well as information on promising areas for the development of bilateral economic relations.

Special emphasis will be placed on sectors with high potential for cooperation, including clean energy and green technologies; digital technologies, artificial intelligence and innovation; the pharmaceutical industry and medical technologies; the agri-food sector; and education and research.

Sectoral discussions are planned, providing an opportunity to exchange information and best practices, as well as to identify specific partnership opportunities between companies and organizations from Bulgaria, Australia and other EU countries.

The working language of the event will be English.
