The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry took part in the Bulgarian government and business delegation in China with a clear focus on the practical opportunities for Bulgarian companies – new partnerships, access to technologies and markets and attraction of investments in Bulgaria.
The Chamber is represented by Dr Eng. Veselin Todorov, a member of the BCCI Management Board and Chairman of the Competitiveness Council, who is taking part in the Programme and meetings in Xiamen and Beijing.
The visit coincides with making the economic dialogue between Bulgaria and China more active and includes participation in the Chinese International Fair for Investments and Trade (CIFIT), meetings with representatives of institutions and businesses, visits to technological and production companies and discussions with potential investors.
The sectors, which have specific opportunities in prospect, include the automotive industry and electric mobility, electronics, energy and energy storage, green technologies, smart transport and the productions with a high added value.
In Xiamen, the Bulgarian delegation held meetings with representatives of the Fujian Province and visited leading technological and industrial companies. They include Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry Co., Ltd., which develops electric and autonomous vehicles and solutions for smart transport. The Company was invited to explore the options for investment and suitable industrial sites in Bulgaria.
“Even the very first meetings here show that there is interest in Europe and in new investment locations. BCCI’s task is that Bulgaria is present in this conversation with specific opportunities, and not only with a general invitation for investments. During the visit, we are looking for companies with real plans for international development, technologies and productions, for which Bulgaria can be the next step, as well as for contacts which can open up opportunities for Bulgarian companies in the Chinese market. “For me, the value of this travel will be in its follow-up plus which ones of these discussions we will turn into meetings, partnerships and real projects for the members and community of BCCI,” Dr Eng. Veselin Todorov commented.
The Programme continued in Beijing with economic meetings and with the Nineteenth session of the Bulgarian-Chinese Intergovernmental Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation.
For BCCI members, the visit establishes a direct channel for new business contacts and first-hand information about companies and sectors with potential for partnership. After its return, the Chamber will be able to continue the initiated discussions and to connect interested Bulgarian companies with specific partners and investment opportunities, identified during the visit.
