BCCI President Tsvetan Simeonov Took Part in the 90th Edition of Thessaloniki International Fair




This week, the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsvetan Simeonov visited the 90th Edition of the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), which is taking place from 5 to 13 September 2026 in Thessaloniki. Exhibitors from 25 countries are presented.

The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is participating with a joint stand alongside the Bulgarian-Greek Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Thessaloniki Fair this year.

The Anniversary Edition marks 100 years of holding the first Fair in 1926 and highlights the future of the Exhibition and Business Centre as a platform for entrepreneurship, innovations and international cooperation in south-east Europe.

This year, Japan is an honoured country at TIF. The Japanese participants present a wide spectrum of sectors, including technologies and innovations, the automotive industry, energy, infrastructure and healthcare, combining traditions and modern technological solutions.

During his visit, BCCI President tracked the development of trends in the sectors, strategic for the region, and established numerous international business contacts with representatives of the hosts from Helexpo, Konstantinos Gioulekas, Deputy Minister of the Interior (Macedonia-Thrace region), Dimitris Skalkos, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Emmanouil Vlachogiannis, Honorary President of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Savvas Karafillidis, President of the Bulgarian-Greek Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as exhibitors. The opportunities for increasing the economic cooperation between Bulgaria, Greece and the partners from south-eastern Europe are of particular interest, as well as the prospects for coactivity with Japanese businesses.

The Thessaloniki International Fair has an established role as an important regional platform for presenting companies, establishing contacts and exchanging ideas between businesses and institutions. For BCCI, the participation in such international forums is a part of its consistent efforts to expand the opportunities for Bulgarian companies and to encourage the international business cooperation.

The TIF Anniversary Edition comprises also a special exhibition, ‘TIF 100 YEARS OF FUTURE’, which traces the Fair’s 100-year history and its role for the economic, technological and cultural development of Greece and at the same time, it presents the vision for its future development.
