Direct Sofia–Yerevan–Sofia Air Route to Resume on November 7

The direct Sofia–Yerevan–Sofia air route will be restored from November 7, Bulgaria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on its website on Monday, citing information from the Bulgarian Embassy in Armenia.

The launch of the route is the result of efforts by Ambassador Nikola Nikolov and the assistance of Captain Yanko Ivanov, representing GullivAir airline. The air route will create new opportunities for direct contacts between citizens of Bulgaria and Armenia, as well as for the development of bilateral cooperation in business, culture, sports, tourism and a number of other initiatives and projects of mutual interest.

Nikolov expressed his gratitude to Bulgarian institutions for their understanding and support in strengthening bilateral relations with Armenia. The restoration of the direct air route is an important step towards deepening contacts between the two peoples and opens up new opportunities for developing and further advancing bilateral dialogue, the Ministry said.

The route will operate once a week.
