Online Information Event: Presentation of Labor Migration Opportunities for Moldovan Citizens in Bulgaria

Within the framework of the project Functional Sustainable Migration and Integration in Bulgaria (FSMI in Bulgaria) and with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Moldova, an online information event was held with the participation of representatives from Moldova.

The main objectives and activities of the project were presented, as well as the electronic platform BG Jobs Portal – www.bgjobsportal.com, which aims to connect Bulgarian employers with candidates from non-EU countries and seeks to provide reliable information regarding employment opportunities and integration conditions in Bulgaria.

Experts presented up-to-date information regarding access to the Bulgarian labor market for Moldovan citizens, including the various types of work and residence permits, the conditions for issuing a D type visa, employment procedures, the recognition of education and professional qualifications, as well as the fundamental labor and social rights of foreign workers.

Special attention was paid to the sectors with the highest labor demand in Bulgaria, as well as to the career development opportunities for highly qualified professionals. The existing mechanisms and agreements facilitating labor mobility and protecting the social security rights of citizens were also presented.

The online meeting with Moldova is part of a series of information events organized under the project. During the period June–July 2026, similar meetings were held with partners and stakeholders from Albania, Armenia, and Ukraine, presenting the specific aspects of access to the Bulgarian labor market for citizens of the respective countries.

Project FSMI in Bulgaria aims to promote the legal labor migration, to facilitate employers' access to qualified personnel by providing reliable information and modern electronic services, and to support the informed choices of third-country nationals.

The project is implemented by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Executive Development – Bulgaria (CEED Bulgaria) and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and will run until October 2026, with an upcoming information campaign and a visit to Vietnam.
