Deposits of households and non-profit institutions serving households (NPISHs) in Bulgarian banks increased by 17.8% year-on-year to EUR 56.859 billion at the end of July 2026, according to data published by the Bulgarian National Bank on August 27.
The pace of growth slowed from the previous month, when an annual increase of 18.6% was recorded.
Deposits of non-financial corporations reached EUR 27.207 billion at the end of July, up 10.8% year-on-year, compared with annual growth of 11% in June.
Deposits of financial corporations increased by 15.3% year-on-year in July 2026, following a 3.8% annual rise in June, and stood at EUR 2.240 billion at the end of the month.
At the end of July 2026, deposits of the non-government sector amounted to EUR 86.305 billion, equivalent to 69.3% of projected GDP. They increased by 15.4% year-on-year, compared with annual growth of 15.7% a month earlier.
