Tsvetan Simeonov, President of BCCI, met with Maria Ivanova, newly-appointed Commercial Attaché at Bulgaria’s Commercial and Economic Section in Cyprus.
The Bulgarian Commercial and Economic Section in Cyprus will be opened this year after a long period without Bulgarian commercial office accredited to the island. Data shows increase in trade turnover between the two countries for the first quarter of 2016, Cyprus occupying 38th place in our country’s export list (after Iran, the Republic of Korea and Israel) and 50th place in our imports list (after Indonesia, Peru and Moldova).
Simeonov introduced Ivanova to the main activities of BCCI – the voluntary Unified Trade Register and issuance of certificates, the Arbitration Court and its unique efficiency in solving legal disputes, the activity of GS1 Bulgaria Board at BCCI, the services and assistance provided to companies.
The international activity of the Chamber was emphasized and its excellent cooperation with Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with which it cooperates both as direct partners and within the Association of Balkan Chambers (ABC) and Eurochambres. The opportunities of the branch organizations, the network of regional chambers of commerce, and the electronic and print statistical publications of BCCI in the interest of Bulgarian business were also presented.
