Minister Angelakova: We are reporting the strongest half-year for Bulgarian tourism


We are reporting the strongest half-year for Bulgarian tourism for the past 10 years with regard to the number of foreign tourists who visited the country. For the period January-June 2016 Bulgaria welcomed more than 3.1 M foreign tourists. The growth in comparison to the same period over the last decade varies from 18% (in 2014) to more than 60% (in 2007). This was announced by the Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelakova in an interview for “Hello, Bulgaria” on Nova TV.

According to the Minister, in June a growth of 28% was reported and serious increases in a number of tourist generating markets. Among them are Romania (44%), Germany (62%), Russia (18%), Ukraine (22%), the United Kingdom (18%), Poland (177%), the Czech Republic (92%), Israel (41%), France (38%), Hungary (49%), Austria (76%), etc.
