The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsvetan Simeonov held a meeting with Heather Bystryk, Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Canada in Bucharest, accredited to Bulgaria, and Corina Stanescu, Trade Commissioner at the Embassy.
The President of BCCI introduced the guests to the history of the Chamber, the types of membership and the various activities and services it offers in support of business. The voluntary Unified Trade Register at BCCI and the work of the Arbitration Court were presented.
The Canadian guests were provided with information materials on the economic situation in Bulgaria, prepared by the Chamber.
It was agreed that BCCI experts and the Canadian Embassy team will collaborate in the future to disseminate useful information on the benefits of the EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) for the business – the effects on trade flows, productivity, employment, investment , intellectual property, rules of origin, etc.
